The ‘Farandole' is the last movement of the 2nd Suite and returns to the opening theme of the Prelude to the 1st Suite, a stately theme now treated in canonic fashion. The Flute, Trumpet and Tambourine leads us into a lively dance, after which, the two themes are played together in an exhilarating musical roller-coaster. This requested arrangement from full Concert Band by Geoff Kingston is an ideal concert opener or encore.

Bizet's 2nd Suite is derived from incidental music to the play L'Arlesienne. Although the play itself was unsuccessful Bizet rescored the music into a 1st Suite of five pieces and after his death, his friend Ernest Guirand, arranged four more pieces to form a 2nd Suite.
