‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' was written by Don Raye and Hughie Prince and first recorded in 1941. In the same year the Andrew Sisters the song in the Abbott and Costello film ‘Buck Privates' and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song. In 1973, Bette Midler recorded her version of the song, a close copy of the original.
