"A West Country March", arranged by Philip Andrews, is a compilation of Dorset folksongs.
The opening four bars are the beginning of the tune "Fair Susan" which then leads into the main march tune of "The Sprig of Thyme".
As a bridge section, the tunes that follow are "It's of a Sailor Bold" and "Fair Margaret and Sweet William".
These little folksongs seem to have an effortless simplicity, and combining them at times - as has been done in this particular case - appears almost a natural undertaking.
By doing this, it is hoped that more of these lesser-known songs will eventually become familiar, and not forgotten in the mists of time.
