The most famous movement from Handel’s ‘Messiah’ is the "Hallelujah" chorus, which concludes the second of the three parts. Often performed separately it is now available for Brass Quintet, arranged by Geoff Kingston in its original key – D major and may be used as an accompaniment to a chorus. If required the arrangement is available in C major. Although one of our ‘Music for Weddings’ series it is ideal for all occasions.
In many parts of the world, it is the accepted practice for the audience to stand for performance of the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’. Tradition has it that on first hearing the chorus, King George II was so moved that he rose to his feet.
