‘Festive Hymn and The Last Post’ uniquely combines ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ and the emotive sounds of the ‘Last Post’ in a moving and poignant arrangement by Ian Macpherson. With dramatic harmonic extemporisations, brass flourishes and dynamic orchestration this is ideal close for your Christmas concert. For flexibility, Ian has used the traditional harmonisation by A H Mann for the first verse, which may be repeated allowing the bandleader to cover as many verses as required. A great new setting of this favourite carol, which, with the use of antiphonal Bugles or Trumpets, will greatly add to any festive celebration.
