| ABOUT THIS WORK | 'A Brace from the Valleys’, dedicated to David B Diggs and the Lehigh University Wind Ensemble, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was premiered by the Band of the Grenadier Guards in Wales at the Parc and Dare Theatre and in Europe at the World Band Festival in Lucerne. Composed and arranged by Denis Burton the work comprises of two traditional Welsh folk tunes, ‘Hob Y Deri Dando’ and the ‘Blackbird’. This miniature overtures' is full of rhythmic and melodic beauty and charm; reflective of life in the valleys.
