BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF THE OPERA It is Easter morning in Sicily; Turiddu still carries a torch for his former lover sweetheart, Lola, who married Alfio when Turiddu was in military service. Now Lola is flirting again and Turiddu is quick to drop Santuzza, whom he courted on the rebound. Rejected and jealous, Santuzza tells Alfio of Lola's faithlessness.
