About this work:
"Keep the Fire Alive'' was composed by Keith Terrett when he was Principal Director of Music & Chief Instructor to the Band of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary. In PNG during 1997, there was a Tsunami, which killed thousands in a village called Aitape.
In 1998, the band toured Japan for two weeks, and performed this piece during a series of concerts, which raised £20,000.00, which was donated to the Aitape Disaster Relief Fund. The title ‘Keep the Fire Alive' refers to the human spirit, and the will of mankind to recover after natural disasters. Now available as a Vibraphone solo this is a great addition to the repertouire.
