About This Work: "Dueling Banjos", originally composed by Arthur Smith and Don Reno as Feuding Banjos in 1955, was made famous in a scene from the 1972 movie Deliverance. The scene depicts Billy Redden playing the piece opposite actor Ronny Cox on guitar. Redden plays "Lonnie"—a mentally retarded, inbred, extremely gifted banjo player.

In This arrangement for Brass Band Alan Beaumont substitutes the Banjo and Guitar with Bb Cornet/Trumpet and Euphonium in an exhilarating and foot-tapping duet. Short and full of fun this is a great encore or stand alone instrumental feature

Difficulty: This piece has difficulty rating of 2 on a scale one through 6, with 6 being the hardest. Click here to see how we grade our band sets.
