About This Work

‘Drifting' is a solo for Flugelhorn and Concert Band. Composed and arranged by Jeffrey Thorpe this atmospheric and jazz orientated piece is dedicated to Keith Love, formally first Trumpet in the Australian Northern Command Army Band and member of ‘The Bribie Big Band' based on Australia's beautiful Bribie Island. This seriously smooth solo is a tribute to Keith's musical talent and his love of boats - one of which is moored in the Bribie Passage - hence the title. A great moody instrumental feature.
