About This Work
"Hora Staccato", composed by Grigoras Dinici achieved instant success as a virtuoso showpiece in its original form for Violin and Piano. Written for his graduation in 1906 from the Bucharest Conservatory, and performed at the ceremony, the work the work became an instant success and become a favorite encore of violinists, especially in the 1932 arrangement by Jascha Heifetz.
This specially requested arrangement for Solo Flute and Concert Band Geoff Kingston offers a great showcase for soloists of all grades and is certainly a great encore.
