The most famous movement from Handel's ‘Messiah' is the "Hallelujah Chorus", which concludes the second of the three parts. Often performed separately it is now available, by popular request, for Concert Band as an instrumental. Arranged by Geoff Kingston in Db major this is also available for Choir & Concert Band in the original key of D major or a tone lower in C Major.
In many parts of the world, it is the accepted practice for the audience to stand for performance of the ‘Hallelujah Chorus'. Tradition has it that on first hearing the chorus, King George II was so moved that he rose to his feet
