J Airlie Dix's 'The Trumpeter', set to the stirring words by John Francis Barron, assured him lasting success and although he was a substantial composer of ballads and comic songs, some of which were interpolated into stage shows in the early years of the twentieth century, it is for this that he will most remembered.
Arranged for Concert Band by Geoff Kingston as Trumpet or Euphonium solo it is also available as a Tenor/Baritone solo with the solo voice included in the score.
A stirring arrangement of this much-loved ballad and a great first solo for the young musician.
