About This Work
Schubert's Ständchen (Serenade) is one of his best-loved songs. Such is the quality of the melody that it is often performed as a solo for multifarious instruments. In this arrangement Geoff Kingston uses the rich palette of sounds available from the modern Concert Band to produce a score that will have global appeal.
Set as a gentle 9/8 ballad this is ideal for all types of concert or bandstand performances – a wonderful melody given a slightly modern twist.
