The presence of suitable music is often required at memorial services, funerals and acts of remembrance. The Largo from Antonin Dvorak’s ‘New World Symphony’ is eloquently suitable for such occasions, with its haunting melody and sense of peace.
Arranged for Brass Quintet by Geoff Kingston, this much loved melody is well known, being popularised as the theme to the television advert for ‘Hovis’ bread and performances by Brass Bands throughout the land. Although intended for us in quieter moments it also suitable as incidental music at weddings and recital performance.
