John Philip Sousa, (1854 – 1932) composed more that 100 popular marches, and is known as “The March King”. In addition his marches he was a prolific composer writing many operettas, waltzes and musical suites. The ‘Mikado March’, edited by Geoff Kingston, is a work little known outside the United States of America and embodies the charm and great sense of fun Sousa music often portrays.
