‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ (Adeste Fideles), was reputably composed by John Francis Wade in 1743 and typifies the sentiments of the Christmas season. This setting by Geoff Kingston, for Concert Band and Choir, is a real alternative to those more traditionally used and full of the dynamic and rich scoring associated with his work and makes an ideal accompaniment to congregational singing.
In performance verses are often omitted, either because the hymn is too long in its entirety or because the words are unsuitable for the day on which they are sung. For example the seventh verse is normally reserved for Christmas day or midnight Mass. In this setting this verse has been omitted. If required the final verse may be repeated.
As with all settings of Carols and Hymns published by SafeMusic, the arrangement of the first verse is taken from the traditional harmonization. The choir parts are optional
