Yuletide Galop’, arranged by Alan Beaumont, is a seasonal variation on Herman Koenig's celebrated ‘Post Horn Galop’. Whilst faithfully reproducing the original Post Horn solo this setting is interlaced with popular Christmas favourites including ‘Deck the Halls’ and ‘Jingle Bells’. A great instrumental feature and one that will give your concert a dash of Christmas spirit!
The Galop was particularly popular as the final dance of the evening. The "Post horn Galop" written, by the cornet virtuoso Herman Koenig was first performed in London, 1844; it remains a signal that the dancing at a hunt ball or wedding reception is ended.
