The first movement of the Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ is easily one of the world’s most well known pieces. The famous mysterious, almost haunting melody is dark and whisper like on top of an undulating triplet accompaniment. With the addition of Percussion and Bass Guitar this arrangement by Geoff Kingston is one of our series of ‘Rhythmic Classics’ If required, the rhythm section can remain tacit for performances in more sacred settings. A nice easy arrangement that will enchant your audience.
Beethoven composed the famous ‘Moonlight Sonata’ in 1801 and dedicated it to Countess Giulietta Guicciardi, his pupil. Shortly after their first few lessons, the two fell in love and after dedicating the Moonlight Sonata; it is believed that Beethoven proposed to her.
