About This Work
La Chaste Suzanne composed by Louis Stanisas Xavier Verroust and arranged by George Pollen, is a new and exciting Trombone solo in the traditional style of an air and set of variations from the Opera of the same name. Eminently accessible to the young and more accomplished performer this stylish solo is an ideal concert feature. Well scored and full of charm this is a valuable addition to the Trombone/Concert Band repertoire.
Louis Stanisas Xavier Verroust (1814-1863) was Professor of Oboe at the Gymnase de Musique Militairean and also oboist with the Paris Opera Company from 1847-1853. He composed this work around 1880.
