The traditional Welsh Air, ‘David of the White Rock’ (Dafydd y Garreg Wen) was first published in 1794. Tradition has it that David; the patron Saint of Wales, on his deathbed called for his harp and composed this lovely melody, requesting that it be played at his funeral. Accordingly, it was later played at the parish church. Full of charm this arrangement by Ed Keeley for Solo Euphonium and concert band retains all the beauty and simplicity of the original melody and ideal for the young and not so young soloist.
