SafeMusic Limited is committed to publishing imaginative compositions and arrangements for Concert Band, Brass Quintet and Brass Band. New music is the life blood of any ensemble and we are proud to present a selection of new and innovative works to give your 2012 concert season a real boost. The following new works, suitable for bands of all grades and ability, are exclusive to SafeMusic so why not build your repertoire with music that you will want to perform time and time again!

Ian Macpherson

 Time - (from the Film "Inception). '‘Time' uses a most elegant repeated chord progression underpinned by an insistent and atmospheric drum beat played on low Tom-Toms and Concert Bass Drum. From a very quiet and subtle beginning the score build to a crashing climax which will have your audience on the edge of their seats. The works concludes with the final chord progression played in minimalist style on the solo piano - cued in the woodwind. The simplicity of the score makes this accessible to bands of all grades and a great musical journey.

The Gathering. Composed for Concert Band & Bagpipes this new composition is inspired by Ian's ancestral connection with the Scottish Clans. With its haunting melody, energy and emotion this is a great addition to repertoire and one that will stand the test of time.

The Dream Catcher - This new work by Ian continues to thrill audience and bands alike with its dynamic scoring, rich textures and playability. Following a distinctive fanfare the work unfolds into three distinctive movements; with interplay between the opening motif and the following dreamlike melody. A real tour di force and an important addition to the Concert Band repertoire.

The Firecracker, composed for Xylophone and Concert Band is inspired by New Year Firework display celebrations around the world. A great new solo that will enthral your audience with its musical pyrotechnics

‘Spectra's Kingdom', composed and arranged for Concert Band by Ian Macpherson, was inspired by the visible light that radiates from the distant stars and galaxies in the night sky. This short high impact Band Feature is dynamic and full of energy. A great Concert opener or anywhere a great band flourish is required.

Labyrinth - Depicting an epic journey, Labyrinth twists and turns through never ending passages; representing a journey to its centre and back again out into the world. An ideal concert opener and full of oomph! 

Time to Say Goodbye - (Con Te Partiro) - composed by Francesco Satori and made famous by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli, was one of the biggest selling singles of all time. Ian's new arrangement firmly places this evergreen, with its lyrical and immediately recognisable melody, into the Concert Band repertoire.

Bugler's in the Ballroom - A powerful new work for Bugles & Concert Band that will enrapture your audience with its beautiful melodic lines, flowing counter melodies and driving rhythms. Also performable as a Trumpet feature.
